I will assume that you know the famous nanny and how efficient she is at taking care of the children and the house.

So efficient, that I think we can learn a thing or two even if we don't have any magic.

Lesson 1: sing

Yes, sing.

Let's take the first lesson from Mary Poppins herself in the song "A spoonful of sugar":

A robin feathering his nest

Has very little time to rest

While gathering his bits of twine and twig

Though quite intent in his pursuit

He has a merry tune to toot

He knows a song will move the job along

Singing will make you feel good, more energetic and ready to overcome the challenges of your day.

It doesn't mean that you have to actually sing. You can sing in your head. Or even listen to some uplifting music.

Lesson 2: make it fun

Every work has parts you don't enjoy, even if you are doing what you love. But you have to do it no matter what.

That's when you start to postpone and procrastinate.

Why not lower the energy you need to put to make this task by making it fun.

Yes, fun!

Gamify the most repetitive and boring task.

Let's listen again to Mary as she sings:

In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun

You find the fun and snap, the job's a game

And every task you undertake becomes a piece of cake

A lark, a spree, it's very clear to see

Lesson 3: Be brave

She is indeed brave and doesn't let obstacles or adverse opinions deflect her action. She doesn't let her go down and get back to work.

Shit will happen, it is part of life.

Then you have to choose what you do.

The only thing can control in the end, is how you choose to react to events.

Lesson 4: Be generous

Generosity is certainly one of the most striking traits of Mary Poppins. You feel that she would give everything at any time.

How being generous can help you achieve more? Because it will drive you.

When you don't feel like doing something, think about someone it will benefit to.

Don't feel like writing? Think about your readers and how this new piece can make their life easier, more interesting, or more joyful.
